The Iowa State Horticultural Society is a nonprofit organization founded in 1866 to promote and encourage horticulture and related interests in Iowa. The Society supports professional and educational associations, clubs, and organizations throughout the state.
ISHS membership currently includes affiliated organizations that represent and promote specific sectors of horticulture. A list of current member organizations is available on the ISHS Affiliates page.
The Society’s activities and functions are governed by a Board of Directors.
ISHS serves as a liaison among its affiliate organizations, the legislative branch, state and federal government agencies, and Iowa State University. The Society also provides scholarships to students enrolled in horticulture or horticulture-related degree programs at Iowa colleges and universities, and it presents annual awards to deserving members of its affiliate organizations.
